It was the International Exhibition of Decorative Art held in Torino in 1902 to take the new European trend to Italy.

Held at the Valentino Park, the event had a far-reaching influence and popularized a taste for the floreal stylization in the applied arts, making of Torino the Italian capital of Liberty.

Pietro Fenoglio is the architect and engineer who best represents Torino Liberty. Among his elegant and original works, mainly developed in private residences, the apartment block known as Casa Fenoglio - Lafleur and Villa Scott, along with the beautiful Villaggio Leumann, the workers' village of the historic cotton mill in Collegno, at the gates of Torino.
