Baroque

The artistic period that characterize most of Piemonte is the Baroque (end XVI until the end of the XVIII century), with a precious heritage of architectural masterpieces by famous architects, such as Filippo Juvarra, Ascanio Vitozzi, Carlo and Amedeo di Castellamonte and Guarino Guarini.

The gorgeous complex of the UNESCO Residences of the Royal House of Savoy in Torino and surroundings includes Palazzo Reale and Chapel of the Holy Shroud, Palazzo Carignano, Palazzo Madama, Villa della Regina, the Castello del Valentino, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi, the Reggia di Venaria and the Castello di Agliè.

The 7 Holy Mounts, UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2003, is another stunning example of Baroque art spread throughout the region, to visit on the ancient path of spirituality for a travel experience into art and pristine landscape.
